Meet Alicia D. Smith, MHA
Alicia D. Smith created My Expat Healthcare™ after experiencing firsthand how difficult it can be to find clear, reliable information about healthcare while planning for life abroad. As someone who frequently travels between Ohio and Panama and hopes to retire there with her husband, she found herself asking many of the same questions other expats ask about doctors, insurance, Medicare, emergencies, and long-term healthcare planning.
Inspired by a 2024 visit to Panama, Alicia set out to create the resource she wished existed: a trusted place where current and aspiring expats can find practical healthcare information, connect with helpful resources, learn from experts, and gain confidence in navigating healthcare in Panama.
